Characteristic

The Straw Chopper Belt Tightener Pulley is a new accessory for the Case-IH combine. The axial flow combines are enhanced by the TSR Straw Chopper. The hammers push material through an extra-long stationary knife, resulting in finely chopped straw. It is mounted directly in place of the beater assembly, and the drive is independent of the combine. The blade bank is removable from outside the combine. Besides, there is no need to modify the combine in order to install the TSR Straw Chopper assembly.
Before the addition of this chopper, farmers had to adjust the tail plate angle manually with turn buckles on both sides. They also had to use hand tools to make adjustments. The tail plate raised the spread width while lowering it narrowed it. The raised tail plate tended to get blown off the combine with the tail wind. It also weighed a ton and made it difficult to remove for baling. The tail plate should be easier to remove for windrowing.
The Redekop Chopper was a very good spreader. The chaff and straw were evenly spread across the field, and the belt tightener helped minimize overlapping spreads. We also found the overall concentration of chaff and straw to be within a desirable range.
While the feeding rate was above our maximum operating range, we did notice a significant difference in yield, and the redekop chopper had a better spread consistency than the others.
